Dragonfly’s Den Official Rules and Policies

This list is combination of our rules as well as safe BDSM conduct.
If you feel these rules and policies are too stringent for the type of experience you desire, we respect that, and we ask that you look elsewhere for your pleasure.

Depending on the severity of the situation, the Dragonfly’s Den will enforce any rule or policy by one or more of the following measures:

Ask an individual to leave the premises immediately

Remove an individual from a particular scene or activity

Remove an individual’s membership and/or specific priviledges

Ask an individual to leave and never return or have contact with the Dragonfly’s Den

Ask an individual to leave with a suspension period of not returning to the Dragonfly’s Den

Return of fees for session, event or membership is left up to the discretion of Mistress Dragonfly or the immediate dungeon supervisor.

Basic BDSM guidelines
1. Consent is the cornerstone of BDSM. If you ask somebody to play and s/he says no – respect this.

2. Communicate. You are responsible for finding out basic simple information about someone you play with before play begins. (Examples: name, likes, dislikes, safety needs, experience, desires, health concerns, stamina, are they involved in a relationship.)

3. Don’t take risks, play only to the level and experience of yourself and your partner. Seek instruction before trying anything new that may be risky.

4. A safe word must be in place for every scene and acknowledged by all involved. A safety sign must be used during gag play.

5. A spotter will be used when a person is standing in mummification, tight bondage, or where a collar is attached to a rigid item where strangulation may occur if the person falls.

6. Supervise ALL gag and bondage use. Persons in bondage or wearing a gag must NOT be left unattended.

7. Circulation in elevated or bound limbs/extremities must be checked often (minimum suggestion every 3-5 minutes). If the skin is cold or has a pale/bluish tinge, loosen the restraint or lower limb/extremity part until the skin is warm and coloured again.

8. No cross-chest or above the neck electrical play is permitted. High impact devices like cattle prods or shock boxes must be used below the waist only. Note: stun guns and tazers are illegal in Canada.

9. Do not approach anyone in a scene unless specifically invited. If the door is open you may watch from outside the door, but you may not enter unless invited.

10. No interrupting scenes at parties or semi-private play.

11. Do not enter closed doors.


Dragonfly’s Den Rules
12. No minors. No one under the age of 18 years old is allowed in.

13. Each person who comes to the Dragonfly’s Den must be doing so under her/his own will and consent.

14. The Dragonfly’s Den is not responsible for any harm, injury or death that may arise from the actions of those using the Dragonfly’s Den.

15. No alcohol or drugs allowed on the premises, unless negotiated before with Mistress Dragonfly or dungeon supervisor.

16. No smoking inside the Den. There is a covered private smoking area outside the entry.

17. No prostitution. Professional non-sexual Dominant, Switch or Submissive scenes must stay within the legal limits set out by the province of British Columbia.

18. Mistress Dragonfly must be informed of all professional sessions.

19. Private sessions may be audio monitored at the request of an individual and/or for other safety reasons. The dungeon supervisor will make this known to all those involved in the session.

20. Discretion is mandatory at the Dragonfly’s Den. Who you meet and what you see or hear in the dungeon remains confidential. While you are permitted to hand out your personal contact information, do not expect or ask for reciprocation.

21. Dragonfly’s Den uses the safe words - red, yellow, green. You must inform the dungeon supervisor if safe words are otherwise.

22. Be aware of your booked time. Arrive and leave in a manner that will avoid disrupting other appointments. Sessions are booked on a schedule that provides a grace period for those arriving and leaving. As this is a private club, be discreet and respect your allotted time slot.

23. You are responsible for the actions of any individuals you bring into the dungeon during your session.

24. For all sessions, appointments and parties you must arrive and leave in street clothes or wearing a long over-coat to cover any fetish wear.

25. The only exception to the above rule is when there are themed parties. Then you must dress in the appropriate theme wear.

26. Non-members who are renting the dungeon for private use will sign a release and agreement form at the beginning of each visit.

27. No guns - fake or otherwise.

28. Knife play needs prior permission and approval by the dungeon supervisor.

29. No scat play. This includes diaper filling.

30. Adult baby play is restricted to private play unless a separate party is planned and specifically announced as such.

31. All water sports must be done in the bathtub. The dungeon supervisor must be informed ahead of time for such activity.

32. The dungeon supervisor must be informed of any blood play before it occurs. You must bring your own drop cloth for this activity. The Dragonfly’s Den can supply a drop cloth at an additional fee.

33. No rape or kidnap scenes in which the “victim” participant is brought to the club without Dragonfly’s Den approval and proof that the “victim” participant has consented. This MUST be arranged in advance.

34. No fire play without advanced permission and set up by the dungeon supervisor.

35. Toys, implements and equipment are very costly. Please use each item in the manner it is intended for. Treat each item with respect and enjoy its full features. If you are unfamiliar with an item ask the dungeon supervisor for some education. If it is an item that requires extensive education, then a private session with Mistress Dragonfly can be arranged.

36. Any equipment, implement or costume that is damaged, lost or stolen, while you have booked the dungeon, becomes your responsibility. You are responsible for paying the replacement value of said item. A list of all house items and their approximate replacement value is kept on file.

37. Accidents do happen. Report all spills or breakage to the dungeon supervisor as soon as possible.

38. While in the dungeon, turn cell phones on “vibrate” or “off”.

39. Cameras are allowed, but no photographs without the verbalized consent of each person being photographed.

40. Consent is the cornerstone of BDSM. If you ask somebody to play and s/he says no – respect this. At the Dragonfly’s Den - No means No.

41. During parties all doors will remain open. If you want to play privately, book some private dungeon time.

42. If you have any concerns please approach the staff. We are here to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. We greatly appreciate open communication and will strive to maintain the same with you. We promote and expect common courtesy and manners from everyone, including members, who use the Dragonfly’s Den.

43. Enjoy your experience at the Dragonfly’s Den. And that is an order.


Member Specific Rules
44. All members must have a signed consent and agreement form on file.

45. All members must sign a health release form and provide information of any health problem that could affect your ability to participate in a scene.

46. Each member will sign a release form stating they are responsible for their own actions, are aware of the risks involved in participating in BDSM, and will not hold the Dragonfly’s Den accountable for any harm, injury or death they might experience while in the Dragonfly’s Den.

47. While members can book dungeon time any time they wish, it is preferable they book it at least 48h in advance. Time will be allotted only if there are no other sessions booked. Time will not be scheduled unless you are current with your membership dues.

48. A member who does not follow the basics tenets of SSC (Safe, Sane & Consensual) or RACK (Risk Aware Consensual Kink), the Dragonfly’s Den rules and policies, and abide by the release and agreement form they have signed, may have their membership revoked without refund.
